The story of The Abolarin College at the ancient town of Oke-Ila Orangun, Osun State, founded and funded by Oba Dokun Abolarin, is a truly inspiring one which epitomises a fundamental aspect of godliness.
It was set up in 2014 to provide free qualitative education to brilliant indigent children, to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor on one hand and attempt to eradicate poverty on the other hand. The college is tuition-free where each pupil is given equal opportunity to express his and her potential under a conducive and inspiring ambience administered by dedicated academic and non-academic staff.
The school provides everything, including school uniforms, school bags, writing materials, feeding, bed linen and anything else you can think of, absolutely free for it’s one hundred plus student. The students also engage in vocational training and the school is fully power by generating sets 24/7.
Admission is not limited to his subjects only as pupils from all over the country are accepted. However, admission is not automatic but regulated under a strict process of entrance examination in alignment with the core objectives of the founding father reputed for his adherence to standard and transparency right from his teaching days at St Andrew College of Education, Oyo and the former Oyo State College of Arts and Science (OSCAS), Ile-Ife.
